Did you know no Life Center Discipler is paid a wage or a salary? Each Discipler is expected to raise their own personal financial support just as most missionaries do. All of Life Center Disciplers have been personally impacted by the exchanged life message and feel inspired and led to see it reach others in our community and beyond. Disciplers also teach and speak at workshops, conferences, and special events.

Theresa Slabbekoorn
Theresa is married to her husband of 20 years, and they have 4 children. She has been an active member in church for the last 20 years. At age eight she gave her life to "flannel graph Jesus who loved me so much" during a VBS. When she was 21, exhausted from living life apart from God and desperately seeking true peace, she returned to church to find the peace that she had experienced in the person of Jesus Christ as a little girl. She still continues to find that Jesus is more than enough to meet all of her needs and be a place of rest for her soul. Teresa first came to Life Center to learn more about Christ as her life. Through the teaching at the Grace Life Conference, Workshop, Advanced Training, and Personal Discipling, she is amazed at the transforming power of God to restore and redeem everything that concerns her and her life. She has a passion to lead others to know, receive, and experience the same transforming power of their Heavenly Father's love and Christ's Life. One of her favorite verses is Ephesians 3:14-21.
Lori Slabbekoorn
Lori has been married for 30 years and has four children. She has worked in
the health care field, child development, and research for Horticultural Growth Development as a tech. She has been blessed over the years to participate in church with children's ministry, prayer partners, small group leader (with husband), tape ministry, food pantry, nursery, and overseeing a cafe to raise money for missions. She has completed the Theophostics Ministry training through Dr. Ed Smiths program and completed the Grace Conference, Grace Workshop, and The Advance Training at Life Center. Theophostics has helped her to release pain and lies so she was able to receive at such a timely point in her life His grace and its fullness-right when she needed it. She met God's grace, His favor, His love and His acceptance of her. She says, now as I surrender all to Him and entrust all I have to Him, my life is full as I allow His life to flow through me and I want to share that message with others. Galatians 2:20 is one of her favorite verses.
Karla Smith
Karla will soon celebrate 18 years of marriage with her husband; and they have three children. She currently works part time as a recreational therapist with Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients. She has been a member of her church for 16 years and has been actively involved with their worship team for 11 years. She studied music at GRCC and has completed several Grace Life Conferences, a Grace Life Workshop, the Advanced Training class in 2008 as well as Dr. Ed Smith’s Theophostic Ministry Training Program. She volunteered her time at Life Center for a couple years before stepping into a temporary position of Administrative Assistant until a permanent one was secured. After God brought much healing and ministry to her through the Exchanged Life Teaching, she has a heart to minister His truth to hurting people. Her favorite bible passage is: "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all." (NIV)
Terri Walker
Attending a Grace Life Conference several years ago made a huge impact in Terri's life. She finally understood that Phillippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," didn't mean that it was her responsibility to live the Christian life. Rather it was allowing Christ to live through her that was the key to the abundant life for which she had been searching. Further teaching through the Workshop and Advanced Training has cemented these truths and given her the desire to share them.
Terri graduated from Aquinas College, as a certified teacher. She has run her childcare business for over twenty five years. She has led many Bible studies. But her favorite job is being wife to Jerry, mother to three, and grandmother to six.
Jerry Walker
Even though Jerry accepted Christ as a teenager, it wasn't until going through Advanced Training at Life Center that the message of Christ's full acceptance became clear to him. Jerry comes from a home broken by divorce, which caused a vacuum in his life. Being told that there was no God caused him to search for God. A few years later while watching a Billy Graham crusade, he prayed to receive Jesus into his life. His life was changed, and he had a desire to lead others to a knowledge of Christ.
After graduating from college and working as a youth pastor, he went on to complete a Master of Divinity degree. He has also been on Campus Crusade staff and worked as a substance abuse therapist. At times Jerry was frustrated as a therapist because the therapy only treated the symptoms of the client's problems. He realized that the message of the exchanged life encourages people to see Christ as their source of life and healing.
